This short article post delves into one of my favourite subjects – Rhythm.
Consider that there’s a rhythm to everything we do, whether we notice it or not.
At the most fundamental level, rhythm is constant. It’s in your heartbeat. Steady, reliable and keeping everything moving.
The same principle shows up in how we work.
How you structure your day shapes the flow of your day. When your actions are scattered, your energy follows. When your approach is intentional, things move with more ease.
Think about music for a moment. Rhythm can shift your mood almost instantly. Fast, chaotic beats create tension. Slower, steady rhythms create calm and focus.
Work is no different.
If you’re feeling overwhelmed, the instinct is often to push harder. But that usually breaks your rhythm. Instead, try reducing your effort by just 5% (I call it the 5% principle).
Slow things down slightly and you’ll often find you get more done, with less friction.
Plan your day, work through it methodically, one step at a time. When the structure is right, the rhythm takes care of itself.
Boom boom!
